Realistic Resolutions

Every year we make our New Year's resolutions and they're almost always the same like be more studious, eat healthy, show kindness etc. This year we wanted to make realistic resolutions that we know for SURE that we animals can fulfill!

AYA'S RESOLUTIONS
Last year, I had three resolutions: Restore my piano skills, Restore my arts and crafts skills and Learn a new skill. I fulfilled only 2 out of the three because well, I'm a lazy squirrel girl. I was able to get back into art with new sketches and projects like the sugar skulls and notepads. I also learned a new skill because of one of my classes at school which was photography! This year I want to:

- Save at least 10-20,000 PHP

- Be more colorful (outfits, personality etc.)

- Be the healthiest I can be in my entire life!

ARABELLA'S RESOLUTIONS

Just about every year I make a list that will make me a better person!(Everyone does hey!)
I cannot anymore remember what it is that made 2012 such a good year because of everything that has happened. I guess this year was good to me and one of the things that can hold proof is that this blog is up and running! The idea was to start this blog to be able to share the little things that we can enjoy in life and having found someone that share the same interests and passion just made it possible and better! two mAAnics are always better than one! This year I will limit myself with three things!

1. DO NOT WASTE THE TIME AND MONEY THAT I DO NOT HAVE

2. SLEEP EARLY, RISE EARLY!

3. CREATE AND SHARE

I'll promise to really stick with my list, 3 shall be ticked off at the end of the year!
2012 you have been wonderful, a great deal of life. See you guys 2013! Hug everyone you love!

So that's that! Tell us your resolutions and if you were able to keep the ones from last year! See you in 2013 with more animal adventures! Happy mAAnic mondays New Year's Eve :)

Our not so Grown Up Christmas List After Christmas

How are you guys doing? We've been really busy with finals week AND making notepads so we're sorry for the lack of postage. Sarreh! However, we're going to make it up to you guys because we'll have about two or three for this holiday season. Yaaayy!

CHRISTMAS WISH LIST AFTER CHRISTMAS
Here is our wish list for this Christmas! Note that it is a WISH list meaning we can only hope to be able to acquire such wonderful items this holiday season.  Given that we are only able to post this after the said day, our chances are getting slimmer but what can we say. We trust in the goodness of mankind/our lovely family friends and throw in some strangers that are lovely. Anyway here's what we'd want...

Loving this bangle from Finders Keepers(finderskeepersphils.com). They sell vintage jewelry from all over the globe. Lucky to have met the wonderful owner tita Wina, as she knows what she sells and she is more than helpful and passionate with helping you find what you like. So getting an item from her is a great investment piece. This one surely looks great on everything don't you guys agree? the boho in me says hear hear!-Arabella
Ever since I got my first bar from Ritual last year I couldn't stop munching on these local made chocolates. A bar from Theo and Philo will be enough to make me happy!-Arabella
Started to collect The New Yorker just recently and just getting them from random booksale stores, great read every issue. Need not to explain anymore.-Arabella
Yup Dahl's the one(so bad with making puns sorry) The only copy of this I saw in NBS Taft. A treat of short stories from a guy who made my childhood more fun, Matilda made me believe I CAN levitate things for the record you guys.-Arabella

Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
I've only watched the film and I love it! So, I thought hey, why not read the book? - Aya
Demonia Creepers
People think these shoes are a joke but with the right outfit these shoes could totally look cute! - Aya

Borderlands 2 for PS3
Been itching for this one! Yes, I am a gooberdorky couch potato. - Aya

So what did you guys get this year? Hope you had a great Christmas!
We're busy making something for you guys, more "art" pads coming your way soon!

Something Growing

Instead of saying "something brewing" we came up with, Something growing (because paper comes from trees)...

Want to know what we're talking about? Well, we've got something up for you! For the last month of this year we will be selling something for you guys truly handmade by yours truly... We are going to make notepads that are not your usual. We are very traditional people and sometimes good old pen and paper is a better way of reminding us of things that are ahead instead of the hollow stylus for our iPads. Let's face it, doodling is what gets us through our boring classes. Right? So here are some samples of things we'll be selling....

These are just prototypes. The notepads we'll be selling will be neater :]

Why buy them?
1. Because you'll have something unique because we'll only make one per design (and per size)
2. We'll be selling them for cheapskate
3. You'll be getting something handmade. Made with all the love in the world. We're serious.
4. They're perfect gifts for your loved ones for Christmas/New Year
5. You'll make us, a raccoon and a squirrel, real happy!

On December 10 we'll be launching our designs so save the date!

P.S.
I'll also be releasing a little something that I blogged about a couple of months ago :) - Aya

Halloween 2012

This is so late but hey, who cares? Arabella and I spent our Halloween apart but that doesn't mean we both didn't party it out!

I had a little bash with my friend's from high school at my best friend Jaymee's place. Drinking games left and right plus, snacks that could probably end world hunger. Also, our deal was we had to come in costume so I went back to my 90's kid roots and went as a Power Ranger. Yeah, the red one but not that red one if you know what I mean *ehem* anyway...
DIY costume

Cake balls by Jaymee :)

Cookies still by Jaymee

Customized shot glasses. 30 pieces for 66 pesos!

Left to right: Tony Stark at home, the Red Ranger, Jasmine, a Native American and Adele
Jesus approves.
As for Arabella... Looks like someone stayed in and had the party to herself....
Tryna be a vampire!
Her trusty ol' shark pose!
When girls get bored, sometimes they just have fun on their own!

But the long weekend didn't pass without her spending it with friends and a teeny bit of alcohol... Happiest Birthday to her friend!

To a greater Halloween next year, hope you guys had fun!

next year we shall bring it!

Book Binding Workshop

Thank you so much to Craft MNL for the amazing workshop! We actually had this back in September and forgot to blog about it tee hee. Sorreh. At any rate, it was worth it because we learned a new unique skill that we'll definitely be continuing to do. I mean how many people can say that they know how to make a legit  notebook, huh? Not that many, mind you but WE CAN.

We were able to learn different kinds of binding and all and we can't really explain how we made them, you know how you learn certain things, and this is the kind where you have to do it yourself(we can't be saying put this thread into that hole then loop it to the below... nah). So if you're feeling crafty why not enroll yourself in one of Craft MNL's workshops, they hold different kinds from rubber etching to glass etching to silver clay making and the list goes on...The possibility of you learning a new craft is one click away: Craft MNL's facebook page for more info on upcoming workshops that you might enjoy :)

Also thank you to Nikki(who was our instructor check her own lovely creations here: Junk Studio) and Marielle for being so accommodating and patient with us. We just love their place, an ideal workplace just gets the juices out of you the moment you enter the place!
 Lo and Behold...

With Marielle founder of Craft Mnl

Arabella's creations that reflect her mind's innermost workings :) Can you tell what she's at?

Also, a pair of vinyl shelves from Junk Studio:)
Tools. We feel capable now.

Can't wait for our next workshop!

P.S. there is a great chance we'll be selling handmade notebooks soon!

Opposite Day

Hiyaaa

As you guys have noticed we've always been unexpectedly match matchy err Monday so surprisingly we wore totally different styles last Monday!

Arabella's Monday Mood: back to her roots! Boho!
Was really stressed out this day so I opted to wear my mum's hand me down skirt not so fresh from the 80s, this so far is my favorite maxi skirt!

Was able to wear the same outfit all day, this was taken at Ritual which is my favorite organic store, which we'll try to blog about soon!

Aya's Mood: Black and Polished
The funny thing is I got inspired by a kid, my little cousin Gab! I swear she's got taste and almost better clothes than me, runs in theee blood!
Although wearing black can be a drag if you're wearing it head to toe but try mixing different textures, I think it works just fine!
Favorite blazer in the world! Power dressing without the hassle!

What was your mood last Monday?
