SMO COMIC CONVENTION--WHAT WENT ON?

The SMO COMIC CONVENTION last January 25 is considered one of the many "gigs"(frustrated musicians, ehem) we'll be doing this year. Luckily we were able to share a booth with Deng Queddeng of KEDENG STICKERS as she shares the same passion with us through liberating and giving people a different kind of commodity in an age where everything is mechanical and done touch and go. Both mAAnic mondays and KEDENG STICKERS invest our own selves in the things we do. We actually contemplate and go through a process even if it doesn't seem that what we do is complicated, we make sure that nothing is done half-hearted or half-assed if you may. Twice baked if possible. So enough of our ardent mumblings. Here's what went on...

Say Hello to Deng the force behind KEDENG STICKERS
mAAnic mondays XX KEDENG STICKERS
By the end of the day we were already thinking of creating a "corporation" . People who dropped by kept telling us we were selling "hipster" things so in the end instead of saying "POSTCARD, PINS, STICKERS, NOTEPADS FOR SALE" We would just scream our lungs out "HIPSTER SHIT!".. watch out for our next big thing...HAHAHA
Arabella and her chosen statement
Aya and Deng manning the booth
KEDENG STICKERS were sold like pancakes! literally!
our so called notepads "art pads"
being somewhat introvert people, this is the only time we were glad to be enveloped by a so-called crowd
pins are not dead yo!
as human as possible
the squirrel and the raccoon

So thank you very much to everyone who dropped by our booth and brought home our one of a kind notepads! also to those who brought home postcards, stickers and pins, heeeepster cheeepster stuff made with life! also thank you to those who took time checking out our stuff, try to get a piece from us next time! Imagine bringing home something that is not touched by a machine. We even sleep beside robots so do think about it!

See you guys around! Continue supporting local!

Book Binding Workshop

Thank you so much to Craft MNL for the amazing workshop! We actually had this back in September and forgot to blog about it tee hee. Sorreh. At any rate, it was worth it because we learned a new unique skill that we'll definitely be continuing to do. I mean how many people can say that they know how to make a legit  notebook, huh? Not that many, mind you but WE CAN.

We were able to learn different kinds of binding and all and we can't really explain how we made them, you know how you learn certain things, and this is the kind where you have to do it yourself(we can't be saying put this thread into that hole then loop it to the below... nah). So if you're feeling crafty why not enroll yourself in one of Craft MNL's workshops, they hold different kinds from rubber etching to glass etching to silver clay making and the list goes on...The possibility of you learning a new craft is one click away: Craft MNL's facebook page for more info on upcoming workshops that you might enjoy :)

Also thank you to Nikki(who was our instructor check her own lovely creations here: Junk Studio) and Marielle for being so accommodating and patient with us. We just love their place, an ideal workplace just gets the juices out of you the moment you enter the place!
 Lo and Behold...

With Marielle founder of Craft Mnl
