Sugar Skull Mania

Hey!
Lately, I've been obsessed with sugar skulls. I first laid my big bright eyes on them on Charlavail's tumblr (3 guesses what her URL is he he he, I made a funny...) and I decided that I wanted one of my own! So I've been scouring places looking for clay that would bake in an oven and believe me, it was a pretty darn long trek. I finally found the brand that Charlavail uses called Sculpey from Hobbes & Landes and I went crazy because it was only 150 pesos per block! For the past week, I've been "sculpting", molding, baking, painting and gluing. Basically feeling like an artist while doing so. I've made probably 7 but most of them are SO UGLY. I managed to make a presentable one but stupid me, I used poster paint instead of acrylic so the paint started to bleed :( I'm on my last stash of clay so hopefully this turns out okay or else I will hit somebody. Tally-ho!

I hope mine turns out like this...

Painting is the hardest part
Still not perfect but I like it better that way!

Satisfied :)

All in all, it was worth it! Now excuse me while I try to pry my mighty-bonded fingers apart...

Messy child forever,

Rainy Tuesday

Just saying a quick hello to everyone and hope you guys survived the rain earlier. Our school suspended classes in the afternoon so we got the chance to sleep in and have more time for school work.  We met up first period which happened to be free cut for us and Aya was able to sit in for my next class, World Literature class. I was a bit excited about wearing my new blue Aztec print shirt today but of course with the heavy rain I had to hide it underneath a comfy black hoodie, oh well I just guys want to let you guys know that on lazy rainy days a dark lippie works wonders because you can wear it alone instead of having the usual mascarra go to because you are sure it won't smudge in the rain. Today I wore cover girl lip stain and I guess it fit the gloomy weather...

I look so wasted here but this was me earlier at 8 in the morning hahaha

Happy that Aya is in class with me!

Don't forget your raincoats/ umbrella/ rainboots tomorrow! (we saw some people wearing plueys in school, you guys are awesome!)
X,
Abbey
